Imagine yourself enjoying the evening sun setting over the ocean from
the balcony of a cabin at the Christies Beach Tourist Park across the
road from one of Adelaide’s popular southern swimming and body
surfing beaches.
Here,
the sea-lover will be able to partake in a diverse range of aquatic activities.
You can swim, body surf, sail, snorkel, fish or simply relax on the beach.
Pass
your time by watching waves break over the horseshoe reef straight out
the front of the park. Maybe you’ll see some dolphins playing in
the sun and surf.
Our Park is within walking
distance (500m) is a cafe with a very popular indoor adventure playground
(Play’n'Fun – an entry fee applies).
Alternatively,
a large FREE outdoor community adventure playground is on the banks
of the Onkaparinga estuary 3km away at Port Noarlunga.
Only 2km away, the Port Noarlunga jetty and Onkaparinga Mouth estuary
are popular fishing spots.
An
all-weather boat ramp is just 5km away at O'Sullivans Beach.
For the snorkelling or diving enthusiast, the Port Noarlunga Reef –
which is directly accessible from the end of the jetty and visible at
low tide – is a must to discover.
Within 3km is the Noarlunga Leisure & Entertainment Centre which
has a movie cinema with 5 theatres, ten pin bowling, ice-skating and
an indoor swimming pool.
Shop till you drop at the large regional shopping complex only 3km away.
Colonnades at Noarlunga Centre has over 160 specialty shops, 3 major
department stores and 2 supermarkets.
You won’t go hungry, as within a 1-3km radius are popular takeaway
food outlets – KFC, pizza, McDonalds, Subway, Fasta Pasta, 3 Chinese
restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, the Christies Beach hotel and Port
Noarlunga hotel, Colonnades Tavern, Andy’s Yiros, The Cheesecake Shop and various
fish and chip shops.

Beach Tourist Park is a small park currently undergoing major reconstruction,
BUT IS STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
The
Park is approximately 8km from a popular skateboard ramp and safe bikeway.
Sorry, NO bicycles, tricycles, scooters, skateboards, go-carts, rollerblades,
rollerskates etc to be ridden in the grounds of the Christies Beach
Tourist Park.
The exceptional and numerous wines of the vast McLaren Vale wine region
(just 20 minutes away), are complemented by local specialty produce
outlets. These include the Olive Grove Shop, the Mixed Berry farm, the
Almond Train, The Turkey Kitchen, the Rainbow Trout Farm, the Deer and
Marron Farm, Medlow Confectionery and the Alexandrina Cheese Company.
A wide range of local restaurants are a connoisseurs delight.
Enjoy
a pleasant stroll through one of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s specialty
nurseries or gardens, or immerse yourself in the culture and heritage
of the many historic towns found nearby.
